Position Overview

The Pricing Manager is responsible for developing and standardizing analytics and tasks related to strategic and tactical pricing opportunities to drive improved gross margins.  The Pricing Manager is also expected to be a change agent within Optimas to drive adoption of pricing tools & analytics.  The Pricing Manager will be responsible for supervising an analyst. 

 

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Leads strategic pricing analysis, development and implementation efforts, focusing on processes to address root cause, remedy and continuous improvement initiatives related to pricing opportunities aligned to business goals.
  • Uses pricing trends, margins, competitive and market analysis to price out new & reprice on-site products for sustainable growth.
  • Works closely with executive leadership to achieve buy-in for new analytics and strategic or tactical pricing opportunities, working together to drive behavior change within the organization related to pricing execution.
  • Leads, develops and communicates metrics that drive activities aligned to business goals.
  • Reports standardized KPI’s monthly to executive leadership to communicate pricing performance, identify trends, spot issues and opportunities, and provide information that allows the team to make informed decisions for pricing.
  • Provides critical and strategic analysis for Sales / Product Line Leaders and works closely with finance, customer support, accounting, supply chain, and accounts payable to ensure accuracy of data.
  • Collaborate with Sales leadership to drive adoption of Optimas price and establish standard cadence for reviewing pricing data with their sales teams to optimize pricing.
  • Update pricing tables in NetSuite and communicate updates in a timely manner to local and international locations to support customer service and operations.
  • Attend interdepartmental meetings regularly and provide insights from pricing perspective
  • Continually evaluates best practices that support attaining business goals and adjust path forward as needed.

 

  • Manages and drives staff performance through coaching, training and workload management; communicates information and drives initiatives, ensuring the team's performance is in line with policies and procedures and supports standardization efforts.
  • Responsible for employee development focused on skills improvement and processes that support the achievement of business goals; provides direction regarding issue escalation and resolution.
  • Engages internal customers to ensure business needs are met.
  • Ensures that all activities and processes are designed to ensure operational effectiveness. 

 

Skills and Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience with industrial goods pricing with a proven record of increasing levels of leadership in analytical and strategic responsibilities across varying areas such as financial, inventory, productivity, etc.
  • High proficiency in Excel and NetSuite required
  • Data visualization skills in BI tools such as Tableau
  • Project management experience required
  • Must have strong ability to develop pricing analytics and standardize analytical process
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as demonstrated ability to influence without authority
  • Must have creative ability to establish and execute a vision for the Pricing Analysis team
  • Must have strong ability to manage time, and organize and set priorities to meet deadlines
  • Prior work experience where it was necessary to understand complex business problems and translate them into reporting/strategic solutions a must
  • Ability to multi-task, reprioritize as needed and work as a team
  • Ability to take feedback and constantly improve work quality
  • Proven team building/motivational skills/leadership capability
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team
